December 2022

Happy December! The number of new jobs in November came in at 263,000 and the unemployment rate stayed at 3.7 percent. This is good news even if there is continued weakness in the U.S. economy. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the U.S. economy adjusted for inflation is expected to grow -2.0 percent to 1.8 percent next year with “at least one quarter of negative real GDP growth between now and the end of 2023” likely. The CBO expects the U.S. economy will pick-up strength as we enter into 2024. As we wrap-up 2022 and prepare for 2023, let us remember the many things we have to be thankful for and remember to spend time with the ones we love. Economic hard times come and go, but the time spent with family and friends is an investment always worth making.
