November 2023

Happy Thanksgiving! There is so much to be thankful for as inflation is coming down in America. In October, the Consumer Price Index came in at 3.2 percent, the same as September, and substantially below the 9.2 percent of June 2022. Meanwhile, the U.S. economy grew at 4.9 percent for the third quarter of 2023 as measured by the Gross Domestic Product. Current estimates for GDP show this slowing to 2.1 percent for the fourth quarter as measured by the Atlanta Federal Reserve’s GDPNow®. The consumer continues to manage through higher prices and if unemployment stays near the current level of 3.9 percent, there is a chance the upcoming slowdown in 2024 can be mild. There is much to be thankful for, even if we know the future economic outlook will be bumpy!
