Happy July! It is truly a historic month as the United States of America celebrates its 250th anniversary. It’s hard to fathom that after thousands and thousands of years of human history, the U.S. Constitution adopted in 1787 is the oldest written national constitution still in use. On the economic front, the U.S. economy continues to expand with 57,000 jobs created in June. The unemployment rate fell from 4.3 percent to 4.2 percent as the labor force participation rate decreased by 0.3 percentage points to 61.5%. Inflation continues to be a concern, despite falling oil prices, with core inflation excluding food and energy up 2.9 percent in the past 12 months. I hope you have the opportunity to enjoy the first days of summer with family and friends!
